Terms of Service
The rules for using the CadreScripts Transcript Editor at editor.cadrescripts.com. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
Effective date: 31 October 2026
01About these terms
These terms apply to the CadreScripts Transcript Editor at https://editor.cadrescripts.com (the “Editor”), provided by CadreScripts (“CadreScripts”, “we”). By using the Editor, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Editor.
02Accounts
- You can use the Editor without an account; your work then stays in your browser.
- Accounts are created by our administrators on request. To ask for one, email info@support.cadrescripts.com or use our contact page.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service at risk.
03Your content
- You keep all rights to the recordings, transcripts and captions you use in the Editor.
- You give us permission to store and process your content only as needed to run the Editor for you, including sending recordings to Amazon Transcribe when you ask for a transcription.
- You must have the right to use every recording, file and link you open, upload or paste. Do not use the Editor for content you are not allowed to copy or transcribe.
- When you paste a link, the file must be shared by its owner for you to use. The Editor does not download audio from YouTube or Vimeo.
04Transcription, usage and budgets
- Automatic transcription and timestamps are machine-generated and can contain errors. Check them before you rely on them.
- Transcription uses a budget set by your administrator. The Editor shows an estimate before each job; the final usage is worked out from the measured audio length.
- For publication-ready work, we offer human-verified transcription and video captions as separate services.
05Storage and deletion
Cloud projects are deleted automatically 14 days after they are created, and uploaded videos after 7 days. Each account has a storage limit. Export anything you want to keep. We are not responsible for content lost after these periods or when you delete it.
06YouTube features
The Editor uses YouTube API Services to import captions from videos on your own YouTube channel. By using these features, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s Privacy Policy also applies. You can remove the Editor’s access at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
07Acceptable use
Do not:
- break the law or other people’s rights, including copyright and privacy;
- try to get around budgets, storage limits or security, or access other people’s accounts or data;
- use the Editor to download content from sites whose terms forbid it;
- overload, probe or disrupt the service, or use automated tools to access it.
08Third-party services
The Editor relies on services from other companies, including Amazon Web Services, Google and YouTube, and video players from YouTube and Vimeo. Their own terms apply when you use them, and we are not responsible for their availability.
09The service is provided as is
We work to keep the Editor available and accurate, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, CadreScripts is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost content or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Editor is limited to the amount you paid us for the Editor in the 12 months before the claim.
10Changes and ending the service
We may change the Editor or these terms. We will post changes on this page with a new effective date; using the Editor after that means you accept them. We may suspend or end the Editor, and will try to give notice so you can export your work.
11Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Questions: info@support.cadrescripts.com or our contact page.
